This is a free anti-virus scanner from Alwil Software that includes free updates. See Article 007 for more information. At the above site click on the "Download" link. You also need to follow the free "Registration" link at the same location. Load the free Licence Key that you get via email after completing the free registration process.
Windows XP AVG Anti-Virus Scanner

This is a free anti-virus scanner from AVG that includes free updates. See Article 007 for more information. At the above site click on the blue "Download" link towards the bottom of the table in the "AVG Anti-Virus Free" column. On the next page click on the "Download Now" button on the left hand side.

A great little add-on/extension to the IE7 and Firefox for the security conscious browser who wants to protect against the increasing threat from phishing. At the above site click on the "Internet Explorer 6+" button on the left hand side if you want to add the Netcraft Toolbar to Microsoft IE6 or IE7. Click on the "Firefox" button on the right hand side if you want to add the Netcraft Toolbar to Firefox.

This basic software Firewall has one distinct advantage over the built-in Windows XP Firewall and that is it works in both directions. It has been around for years and still enjoys an excellent reputation. At the above site click on the "Products & Services" tab and then click on "Basic Firewall". On the next page click on the green "Download Now" button on the right hand side. On the next page click on the grey "ZoneAlarm Firewall" button on the right hand side.
