This gives even more information about applications loaded when you start up your PC. At the above site click on the "Download Autoruns and Autorunsc" link at the bottom of the page. Extract the files from the .zip folder and just run (double click) the "autoruns.exe" file from any location. See Article 018 for more information. |

PC Wizard http://www.cpuid.com/pcwizard.php PC Wizard 2008 is a powerful utility designed especially for detection of hardware, but also some other analysis. It's able to identify a large range of system components and supports the very latest technologies and standards. This tool is periodically updated (usually once per month) in order to provide most accurate results. Process Explorer http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896653.aspx This industry standard for process analysis and monitoring was originally written by Mark Russinovich for Sysinternals, however, in 2006 Microsoft bought Sysinternals. At the above site go to the bottom of the page and look for the "Download Process Explorer" link. This application does not need to be installed like most other software; just download the .zip file, extract the files contained and run (double click) the program "procexp.exe" file from any location. |

Start Up Control Panel http://www.mlin.net/StartupCPL.shtml Startup Control Panel is a nifty control panel applet (small program) that allows you to easily configure which programs run when your computer starts. It's simple to use and, like many utilities, it's very small and won't burden your system. At the above site scroll down until you see the "Download Startup Control Panel" link. Once installed, an item called "Startup" will be present in your PC's Control Panel. See Article 018 for more information. |
